Run from Sunday

2.23 miles

How the run felt: Fine until I reached the Ute Pass Trail cutoff. I realized at that time that I could no longer see so had to return to my car as quickly as possible to find migraine meds.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a… I’m not sure effort applies to this particular run.

Enjoyment rating: I was pretty upset that I could not complete my long run. UGH.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 140.2, 30.3

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10:30pm, 7.5 hours

3.0 miles, 31:07, 10:22 average

How the run felt: Easy. Cool with light wind.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 3 (easy).

Enjoyment rating: Fine. Took the dog with me and pulled it out. Realized that I felt like I was moving pretty fast but it felt easy. Was doing 9:30s at the time.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.0, 29.7

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 11pm, 8 hours

5.0 miles, 49:05, 9:49 average

How the run felt: Moderate for the first 3 miles and then challenging for mile 4 and OUCH on mile 5.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 8 (ouch).

Enjoyment rating: Not terribly enjoyable. I was looking to beat my watch and it hurt.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 139.4, 29.9

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 11pm, 7.5 hours

Yoga day! I started with a foundational flow and found it too slow. So for every single warrior series the instructor walked through, I did 4. My chattarangas are starting to rock it pretty solidly.

Weight: 140.6, 29.5

Sleep: Bedtime 10:30, 8ish hours, interrupted at 3:30am by dog needing to go outside.

Santa Fe Trail

3.0 miles, 32:54, 10:40ish average (this included stoppage time to deal with dog)

How the run felt: Relatively easy. Kept the pace where it should’ve been. Snow pack on trail was pretty choppy which kept the pace down too. Chilly and a headwind.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 3 (easy).

Enjoyment rating: High. I really didn’t wanna go for this run as I was fairly hungover from the Superbowl but once I got out there, I just enjoyed the scenery and the feel of the legs turning over. Also went further out than normal so I could stop at 3 miles and walk it back to the car.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 139.0, 30.5

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10:30pm, broken 7.5-8 hours due to wine consumption

My house, Basement

3.0 miles, 72 minutes, 15% incline

How the run felt: Sucky dreadmill.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 6 (moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Zilch.

Early morning body weight/bf%: didn’t weigh in until after breakfast. 141.0, 31.4

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10:30pm, 9 hours

Yoga day! Did an intermediate vinyasa flow. Felt really good today.

Slept well last night. Bedtime 11pm, slept 8.5 hours. Snow day today!

3.0 miles, 29:13, 9:44 average

How the run felt: The weather was nice and cool. There was a bit of a headwind coming from the north. Freaking Nancy H. was using me as a rabbit which just made me pick up the pace. Left quad up into my hip was bugging me. Legs started to feel like lead in the last half mile where my pace slowed considerably.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 5-6 (moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Kinda fun given that I had a little company on the trail. Enjoyed the crisp day.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 140.8, 29.5

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 12 am, 7 hours – John was restless so had a hard time falling asleep.

4.0 miles, 40:18, 10:04 average

How the run felt: Easy for the first 2 miles on the out. I put the hammer down on mile 3 and paid for it in mile 4.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 5-6 (moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Not all that enjoyable. The weather was lovely though. I kinda don’t like running boring, flat trail.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 141.4, 29.0

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10:30pm, 8 hours

Yoga day! One hour.

Did an intermediate to advanced vinyasa flow. I did some more advanced balancing postures today but the tripod handstand and the hurdler’s balance are still beyond me 😉

My hips were ACHING last night. I badly needed a yoga day today. Appointment with ART chiro tomorrow to help work out some of these aches. I think my quads/hips are fried from running down on the ice on Sunday. Ouch.
