Culvert Trail

3.25 miles, 36:10, 11:06 average

How the run felt: Cold wind out there. I just took it really easy today. Though I could feel my right arch and left knee complaining. I know that my posterior tib is pretty pissed and my left IT band is grumpy. Some good stretching/icing and those things should settle back down.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 3(moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Took the dog with me. Did some xcountry-ing at the park to avoid some dogs that Trey was eying up.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.2, 28.7

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 9:15pm, 8 hours, broken as I was awake at 3:30

Barr Trail, NoName +5

9.0 miles, 2:25 roundtrip, 1:18 up to NoName

How the run felt: Hard but still easier than last week. At no time did I feel like puking or crying 🙂  The ice at NoName was HIDEOUS.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 8(hard).

Enjoyment rating: Nice day out. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the really icy bits.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.6, 29.3

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10pm, 7.5ish hours

Treadmill

4.0 miles, 38:59, 9:44 average

How the run felt: Had a nice fan blowing on me today and had some issues with labored breathing here and there but then I just settled it back down and it was fine.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 5(moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Just wanted it over with.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 137.4, 29.2

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 11:30pm, probably got 6ish hours. Really unsure as had one good stretch that was about 3 hours and then had kind of broken sleep until 6am.

Treadmill

6.0 miles, 58:00, 9:40 average

How the run felt: I despise the treadmill. Did up to mile 1.5 at 6.0 then cranked it to 6.5. After a bit of that, I pulled it back down to 6.0 for a little recovery. Cranked it up slowly and finished off the last half mile at 7.0. Also, I was HOT!

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 6-7(moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Meh. But the focus was good toward the end. Just locked in and got it done.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.4, 29.5

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 9pm, but didn’t fall asleep until 11pm. The wind was hitting 60mph for most of the night. Slept about 7.5 hours.

3.0 miles, 33:00, 11 minute average

How the run felt: Slow and fine on the way up. 1/2 inch of snow on the trail so there was some slip factor. Little bit harder on the return trip. Hips were tight.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 3(easy).

Enjoyment rating: Despite it being kind of cold, windy and snowy, it was nice out there today. Would much rather do this than run on the dreadmill.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 137.4, 29.3

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 9pm, 9+ hours

Barr Trail, NoName

8.7 miles, 2:13 roundtrip, 1:19 up to NoName

How the run felt: Hard.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 8(hard).

Enjoyment rating: Pretty good actually other than the pain factor. Enjoyed being able to crank it up. Ran more between the W’s and Rock Arch than normal. Pushed hard on the hiking.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.4, 30.0

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 10pm, 7ish hours

Yoga day! Did an intermediate flow.

Weight: neglected to weigh in. Perhaps on purpose as I ate french fries, coke and then chipotle for dinner.

Sleep: Bedtime 10pm, 8.5ish hours, the only reason I got up that early is because the dogs were restless.

3.0 miles, 28:50, 9:36average

How the run felt: Not as easy as Monday. Sunny and 40 degrees. Pushed pretty hard over the last half mile.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 4-5(moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Relatively high given that I didn’t enjoy running this flat trail several weeks ago. Now I’m starting to see the woo of the flat/boring trail 🙂

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.6, 29.2

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 9:45, 9 hours

The Incline

53:18

How the run felt: Haven’t done the Incline in a month. Wasn’t hideously challenging because I was with a friend who hadn’t been up in a long time. Legs are sore though so I did some definite good.

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 4 (easy-moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Good! Loved being out there today.

Early morning body weight/bf%: 138.8, 30.5

Bedtime and hours of sleep: 11pm, 7 hours, broken as I was anticipating getting up early.

Culvert Trail

3.0 miles, 30:57, 10:18average

Effort rating: Using the newer Borg scale of RPE (ratings 0-10+), this run was a 4 (easy-moderate).

Enjoyment rating: Fine. Took the dog with me.
